Fantastic,
Just to let you know that after about 2 years of trying, I've
finally got it all to work, decryption and all in my Mythtv (svn
trunk) setup, Twinhan Vp-1030, irdeto 1.09 Cam and legitimate Foxtel
irdeto 2 (red) smartcard.
Well, first of all,
Long way back, the vendor was not ready to disclose any information. Had
a huge fight with them for more than 6 months with the vendor to provide
relevant information. Finally they yielded to pressure.
When the vendor disclosed the information and provided hardware for the
same, found that there need to be extensions. (It took 6 months for the
vendor to give the exact information)
When the extensions were done, found that there weren't any applications
for the same.
It required a lot of effort to get the required stuff to go.
Thus it started off with the libs etc. While being at the libs we had
huge fights etc, as to some people wanted to take it in a different
route altogether, but finally got it to move in one direction.
In that path, many joined in to make that path better. Well, finally we
have the required libraries, as well extensions to other applications
etc. Of course many did join in on that to give very valuable
suggestions and some others in terms of code, some others in terms
fixing it up and others giving it that glitter what it needed etc.
It was indeed a long road. Quite a long tiring journey as well, but was
exciting as well.
Had limited success a couple of days ago, spent the last 12 hours
or so trying to nut out some wierd tuning issues (Was pulling the PAT
for the wrong Frequency). Turns out, that I've had my LNB set wrong
for the last two years, which is odd, because I have been able to tune
successfully to some frequencies. So, the code has possibly been
working for ages and I never knew it. Mind you, apparently Foxtel are
pulling thier irdeto 2 transmissions early next year, sigh (leaving
just thier custom Videoguard encryption transmissions). At least I get
6 months of a working system.
*sigh*
Anyway, for anyone using Foxtel in Australia set your LNB to 107000
low.
e.g. szap/scan -l 10700, 10700,10700 or possibly just -l 10700.
or for Myth just set both low and high LNB to 10700, and the switch to
whatever you like (1 for e.g.).
Sounds great.
Hopefully, if someone googles this, it might save them the year or
so of faffing aroud I did.
Alternatively, do you guys want to add another -l constant to
dvb-apps -l AUSTRALIA or -l FOXTEL ?
If you meant those libs, they are used for the command line utility
ca_zap, which has been now renamed to zap (a unification of all *zap
programs)
