If backwards compatibility is with API, this you can test. If you mean S2 backwards capability on DVB-S receiving backwards compatibility mode transmission, this will be very difficult. To my knowledge no such transmission exists. All users sofar seem to be going to full S2 usage.


I did provide a parsed TS output on the same a while back on a Backward Compatible stream. It is there somewhere in the huge thread.

Anyway , what Johannes asked was not the BC mode, but the backward compatibility to the API. For this we need to have at least an agreement on the basic API change such that it can be considered stable , so that relevant changes can be based on that. As i said on my earlier mail, some changes have been there on my local machine which hasn't been updated for the DVB-S2 driver as i did not find an "official" agreement on the patch.

Waiting on that ACK from Johannes on multiproto7a, as he said it looks OK, to his eyes. Maybe he is having his last round of checks.
