The main dispute was about how DVB-S2 works, and thus how the DVB-S2 API should look like. I think most of this is solved, except for some bits which can only be determined by experiment (or if someone can get in contact with the authors of the DVB-S2 standard). But then there is also a proposal for extended capabilities mixed into it. Plus the partial FE_GET_PARAMS with the IGNORE values (dropped in latest patch). Plus some stylistic issues (naming, comments). Most of this is OK now from my POV. Anyway, it needs to be implemented first and proven to work (especially wrt backwards compat) before it can be merged into mainline. Maybe this work already happens in private, or maybe people got tired of the discussions and lost interest...
