Set at least debug level 1 for all debug messages in cx88-mpeg.c to be
able to turn them off by setting debug=0. Currently I'm getting
about 10k messages per day from this in my syslog without any
functional harm.

Please consider applying. Patch is against Linus git tree from 14.4.
Thanks.

Please consider generating all future v4l-dvb patches against the v4l-dvb mercurial repository, located at http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb

A very similar patch was submitted by Trent Piepho eight days ago:

http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb?cmd=changeset;node=b23da945e786

Ok, thanks. I just added the thing to my local tree after a quick
google search didn't turn up relevant patches and thought I'd
share it. If it's taken care of - forget the patch. Is there a chance
this gets included in 2.6.17?

Jan
The changeset from Trent is slated for 2.6.18 inclusion. Mauro may choose to submit it to Linus for 2.6.17, but I doubt he will, as this patch is not crucial, and Linus is becoming more and more strict about only accepting absolutely crucial bug-fixes after the 2-week merge window.

There was a reason why these debug messages were enabled by default. I don't remember what that reason was, but I am not at all sad to see them gone. ;-)

Cheers,

Michael Krufky
