KNC One TV Star DVB-S setup

Hi all,

I'm the new kid on the block. A few days ago I have bought a KNC because it
was stated that there is linux support for it out there. Unfortunately, I now
know that this is not quite true. But with the 2.6.16-rc5 kernel (sourcemage
0.9.5) my computer recognizes the card:

Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] Linux video capture interface: v1.00
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'.
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKA] enabled at IRQ 11
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0d.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] ->
GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem f8860000 (revision 1,
irq 11) (0x1894,0x0014).
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] DVB: registering new adapter (KNC TV STAR DVB-S).
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] adapter failed MAC signature check
Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] encoded MAC from EEPROM was

Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] budget-av: ci interface initialised.

Mar 11 16:40:04 [kernel] DVB: registering frontend 0 (ST STV0299 DVB-S)...

That's as far as I get right now. These are the loaded modules:

but no userworld software is running yet. Kdetv does not find a device and

and so on, but no image appears. So *something* is working but I am not yet
there. Anyone who can help me on?

Cheers, and thanks a lot

Edi
