Its a problem in the UK. See below.

It is standard practice in the UK to publish that a transponder is on
507.0MHz say but transmit on 507.167MHz or 506.833MHz.
Being able to set 507.0MHz as the transponder frequency and
have the card pull in from the + or - 1/8MHz is very useful.
