[linux-dvb] compro dvbt-300 problems

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

hi all

Im hoping Hartmut Hackmann or Andrew (Andy) Smith can help me out here,
as their posts have helped me greatly and are excellent value

I have managed (stress managed) to setup the compro dvbt-300 on a fedora
core 4 (2.6.12-1.1398) box with an old 20GB harddisk. It was a strugle,
and with the help of a friend, we managed to get the card to work. i did
it on an old 20GB drive as a test, to see if it would work

Now I have it working, I want to setup Fedora on the 200GB SATA harddisk
i have, so, from scratch, i have tried to setup the card again with a
clean install of fedora. so far i have not been able to get it to work,
no matter what i try. I am convinced I have done everything I had done
with the install on the 20GB drive. Heres a quick rundown:

- installed FC4
- updated the kernel to 2.6.12-1.1398, as this is what i had on the 20GB
install
- checkedout v4l and dvb-kernel from linuxtv.org
- for some reason, as i think andy found, i had to copy all .c and .h
files from dvb-kernel/linux/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-core/ into
/usr/src/kernels/2.6.12-1.1398_FC4-i686/drivers/. im not so sure about
this step... i mightbe missing something or barking up the wrong tree
- in the v4l-kernel dir, i do a make merge-trees
- then make
- then make install
- all is still going fine.
- i then do modprobe saa7134 oss=1 card=70 and i get this:

FATAL: Error inserting saa7134
(/lib/modules/2.6.12-1.1398_FC4/v4l2/saa7134.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
