Taylor's correct --> FusionHDTV Gold 3

It should have
- no daughter board (as far as I remember)
- dual RF input
- Temic/Microtune 4042 tuner, no idea on the analog demod., LG DT3302, Conexant cx2388x decoder
- and I guess, as Taylor pointed out, a card id of 18ac:d800

In regards to QAM, Dvico said:

"FusionHDTV3 Gold is mainly for receiving Over The Air fee ATSC digital broadcasting channels.
ATSC is modulated using a technology called 8VSB.

Whereas digital cable in US is being broadcasted using the modulation technology called QAM.
FusionHDTV3 Gold is capable of receiving QAM(64,256) modulated HDTV signal too, and it was confirmed in our lab with test equipment.

Even though, our beta testers in US reported the FusionHDTV3 Gold samples would not show QAM broadcasting.

Since it is not successful at the field testing yet, we cannot claim that FusioHDTV3 Gold is capable of receiving QAM digital cables.

We will need more time to clarify this and we are not sure whether we will make it work before US release.
We have plans to release the FusioHDTV3 Gold regardless of QAM in sometime Feb 2004"

Later they would write:

"QAM support Update on FusionHDTV 3 Gold. (Mar 09. 2004)
After more experiment with QAM beta testers in US and judging from some feed back who gave it a try with FusionHDTV 3 Gold being sold today, The current FusionHDTV 3 Gold is only for ATSC OTA channels and It is a hardware issue which cannot be upgraded or fixed.

Some users found that attaching appropriate attenuator makes FusionHDTV 3 Gold display "some" channels of QAM, but the mileage will vary depends on the cable condition of each. So we do not recommend purchasing the current FusionHDTV 3 Gold card for QAM viewing.

We are making new hardware and still doing the engineering with US beta testers.

The soonest availability to end user will be in 4-8 weeks depends on the filed testing results.

We do not want our valuable customers to waste time and money in trying QAM with current FusionHDTV 3 Gold.

We are sorry for uncertain schedule and delay."

So they followed up that release with the FusionHDTV 3 Gold Q (also having been directly referred to by Dvico as the FusionHDTV 3 Gold QAM)
This is the board Mac has.
- still has 2 RF inputs and same hardware as the original F3, but
- came with a Daughter board
- card id should be 18ac:d810

And finally, a third variant of the F3 was released, the FusionHDTV 3 Gold T (also having been directly referred to by Dvico as the FusionHDTV 3 Gold QAM-T)
This is the board Michael has and that is still available at some retailers. The notable changes include:
- no daughter board this time
- only 1 RF input !
- and also, the Temic/MT tuner was dropped in favour of the Thomson DTT 7611
- card id should be 18ac:d820
