FW: [linux-dvb] No /dev/dvb devices in FC4

I'm having exactly(?) the same problem so if you find the answer before me,
could you let me know. I will do likewise.

There are MAKEDEV.sh scripts available which would create those device
names, but that still hasn't done the trick for me.

ie: Section titled: "Test DVB Card Tuner" at:
http://bjblaster.com/projects/mythtv_box/index.htm
HOWEVER, I'm not suggesting I am the person to follow here. I would prefer
to see things work without using the script like it seems to for other
people.

I believe the dvb-bt8xx drivers are loading though. But I'm fairly new to
this and can't paste results this moment. The card is detected as

My intention right now is to recompile the kernel (since I had installed the
card AFTER Fedora). No one suggests an "UNKNOWN/GENERIC" card detection is
ok... which I'm thinking MIGHT be where I should be looking. But I'm
guessing here :-)

# dmesg

bttv: driver version 0.9.15 loaded
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).

bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at.... irq: 5 ...
bttv0: using: *** UNKNOWN/GENERIC *** [card=0, autodetected]
tveeprom(bttv internal): Huh, no eeprom present (err=-121)?
bttv0: using tuner=-1
