Ok, I tried to open it a little more and look on the other side of
the tuner PCB, the only thing I can read on the chip is "TAIFUN", but
I can't see the number. Might be "4T" at the end. Might be an
Infineon TUA 6034?

Included with the Windows TV application (which indeed seems to be
done by a "C&E" company) there is a Player.ini which iirc for the
Hanftek is:

Tunertype=5
TunerI2CAddress=194
DriverLoader="CEDTVLDR.sys"
DriverCapture="DTVM5P2.sys"
CaptureTo=1
OffsetStepStart=0
OffsetStepEnd=0
UseExternalDecoder=1
UseAudioPage=1

For mine it is:
Tunertype=6
TunerI2CAddress=192
DriverLoader="CEDTVLDR.sys"
DriverCapture="CEUSBDVB.sys"
CaptureTo=1
RefreshRFInfo=0
OffsetStepStart=-2
OffsetStepEnd=4
OSDFontSize=2
EnableOffset=0
CursorHideNormalscreen=0;

So, I don't know how they count in the Windows world, but the i2c
address seems to be indeed different ;)

I also tried to tune to a station under Windows and then boot into
linux and do a scan, but get the same non-results:

 >>> tune to:
538000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_2_3:FEC_NONE:QAM_16:TRANSMI
SSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0011
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000

tzap -r also does the same as before.

Fine ;)

Well, this would only be a problem if I wanted the device to run on
my G3 iBook, but then again I'd have to make it run under MacOS first ;)
