Well I'm very pleased to say that we are lucky and it does just work! I've not 
done extensive testing but I was able watch live TV using both Kaffiene and 
MythTV.

Here is the output with these flags set:

usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 7
check for cold 547 201
dvb-usb: found a 'Nebula Electronics uDigiTV DVB-T USB2.0)' in cold state, 
will try to load a firmware
dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-digitv-01.fw' to the 'Cypress 
FX2'
dvb-usb: Nebula Electronics uDigiTV DVB-T USB2.0) successfully initialized and 
connected.
usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 7
dvb-usb: generic DVB-USB module successfully deinitialized and disconnected.
usb 1-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 8
check for cold 547 201
dvb-usb: found a 'Nebula Electronics uDigiTV DVB-T USB2.0)' in warm state.
dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the demuxer.
DVB: registering new adapter (Nebula Electronics uDigiTV DVB-T USB2.0)).
