That's strange. Did you build and load the module from inside build-2.6? 
What is 'modinfo dvb-usb.ko' showing?

It doesn't fix the debug output but another mistake of mine.

Normally when loading dvb-usb.ko with debug=0x03 messages like:

Jun  1 17:36:03 localhost kernel: >>> 09 01 01 63 1f
Jun  1 17:36:03 localhost kernel: <<< 08 03

should appear.
