What's needed is the stuff in the snapshots on http://dl.bytesex.org/video4linux-20050310-100754.tar.gz You need to use the dvbcore from the kernel, but configure nothing else. Boot the kernel and "make install" in the video4linux directory should set build the modules and install them. On Mandrake 10.1, kernel 2.6.11.2 + an earlier snapshot 20050121 these are the modules I have loaded and it's working with kaffeine. Other apps such as xawtv complain there is no /dev/video and yesterday someone on the linuxtv mailing list suggests that this card does not do video. I did have problems with snapshots after 20050120, a module (or51132) for a different card kept getting built and insmod. I'm just about to have another go with a later kernel and the latest snapshot. cx88_dvb 6660 0 cx8802 9156 1 cx88_dvb mt352 8324 1 cx88_dvb video_buf_dvb 6276 1 cx88_dvb dvb_core 78312 1 video_buf_dvb cx22702 10052 1 cx88_dvb cx88xx 48476 2 cx88_dvb,cx8802 dvb_pll 4932 3 cx88_dvb,cx22702,cx88xx ir_common 5828 1 cx88xx video_buf 18564 4 cx88_dvb,cx8802,video_buf_dvb,cx88xx v4l2_common 6528 0 btcx_risc 5768 2 cx8802,cx88xx tveeprom 13272 1 cx88xx /dev/dvb/adapter0: total 0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 212, 4 Mar 16 20:07 demux0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 212, 5 Mar 16 20:07 dvr0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 212, 3 Mar 16 20:07 frontend0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 212, 7 Mar 16 20:07 net0 Regards Sid. > > On Sat, 2005-04-02 at 19:08 +0100, Graeme Hilton wrote: > >>Soyeb Aswat wrote: >> >>>Have you loaded the cx-dvb module? >>> >> >>I assume you mean the cx88_dvb module that I don't have.
