Unfortunately it turns out that the linux-can mailing list was not accepting patch 4 of this series (probably due to size) Part of the increase is due to the request to separate into multiple files (and their corresponding headers) So I have created a V7 of the patch-set where (as far as I have moved can transmission to a separate patch, so after patch 4 only can-reception is working and only patch 5 will introduce can TX. In the hope that this is acceptable I will submit V7 now. Martin
