So for a short time period the bluetooth adapter appeared and functioned
properly with the provided patch. I did reboot in to Windows 8 which functioned
properly there as well but upon rebooting in to Linux the adapter disappeared
again and has not reappeared since. The adapter is still seen in the lsusb
output but not in any bluetooth tools including hciconfig and hcitool.
