Hi Dave!
Probably the voice allocation and the visual keyboard is just an add-on of
the plugin itself, so just visualisations. If your plugin doesn't start
LinuxSampler in the way andrew suggested, then perhaps youcould just start it
yourself on a terminal or an xterm and see what happens then. Although a
well-written plugin should tell you if it's backend is running and otherwise
report an error. But as you're the first to mention it here - at least I
believe so - it might be very young yet.
