every step in SoftWerk can be put under MIDI control, as can the
per-sequence volume control. the "usual" way for apps that i work on:
ctrl-middle-click/tweak knod-pad-fader/done.

the intent was to replace/supplement/extend devices like the
Schaltwerk or its little brother the MAQ 16/3.
