I use only "snd-hdsp" now. > there is no conventional mixer on this card, so alsamixer and other > "generic mixer" apps will do nothing. you need to use hdspmixer. Ok. I use only "hdspmixer" now. I also tried to remove a lot of modules. Now I have only the following: ----- $ lsmod | grep snd snd_hdsp 43812 0 snd_rawmidi 18848 1 snd_hdsp snd_seq_device 7180 1 snd_rawmidi snd_pcm 59908 1 snd_hdsp snd_timer 18692 1 snd_pcm snd_page_alloc 8328 2 snd_hdsp,snd_pcm snd_hwdep 7428 1 snd_hdsp snd 41828 6 snd_hdsp,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_hwdep soundcore 7008 1 snd ----- Problems remains. Mixer levels are ok (graphics moves up/down), but still no sound. > it is possible that you will have to reflash your firmware to make it > work under linux, but check the results of running hdspmixer first. Really? :-( Sorry to bother you with this point, but: how can one downgrade HDSP 9632 firmware (RME firmware update Windows tool only upgrade it and I found no howto on how downgrade it)? Should I have bought a 9652 instead (common mixers work with this one?)? Thanks for your time, Bye
