amarok's default audio playback library, Xine, has a jack sink. same story with rhythmbox and gstreamer.

neither are as CPU efficient and reliable as mplayer or xmms.. 

im convinced the biggest CPU suck in amarok is the pulsating current playing item, and i cant figure out how to turn that off..
