Please, the real question is whether you also have installed jackd from a
ubuntu/debian package. Don't know how you do it on ubuntu, you gotta look
into some package manager that I don't grok.

If its apt-get I can tell that you can ask something like:

apt-cache search jack  -- to search for jack applications
apt-get install jack   -- to install jack, or check if already installed
apt-get remove jack    -- to uninstall jack

assuming "jack" is the right name.
