Interesting. I used mp3splt direct from the Debian distro for a while
and it worked like a charm. Maybe it's a versions thing.

name. and it always gave me unreadable files. even dd didnt do that..
I have just built libmp3splt and mp3splt-gtk and found them to be very
unstable. mp3DirectCut seems to work well though.
