looks nifty. im pretty sure there used to be a cmdline util with the same name. and it always gave me unreadable files. even dd didnt do that..

also, give an ogg-supporting version of libsndfile a try with ardour. its possible its finally useful the way sampltude is for perusing long compressed files and finding the good snippets...
