For a laptop AFAIK there's only the RME PC-card interface supported
100%. If you're the experimental type of user, you may also want to
have a look at the freebob-supported Firewire devices:

there is also the echo layla pc-card one. 8 in/out plus adat and
optical. The amount of times i've mentioned it on this list echo
should give me one of there cards for free. ;)
