Known issue.  Alan Cox sez "you have a severely broken BIOS that
implements ACPI via SMM".  You would have exactly the same problem no
matter what OS you ran on it, because SMM bypasses the OS completely.
The only workaround is to disable ACPI daemons, batter monitors, etc
while doing audio work.
