Alexander, Those files are not necessary. ModemData.txt is the only one that is needed. If you can run additional tests if you have Mindows installed, it would be better to identify the modem. ============================================================ If an alternative boot into Microsoft windows can be done, do mouse clicks on: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Classical View (for Window XP) > System Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Click on the + > Modem. Double click to expand the graphic. Manufacturer information may be displayed. For example, CXT stands for Conexant. Click the Diagnostics Tab. Record any hardware ID or vendor and device information. From the Driver Details TAB, copy out the VENdor and DEVice information. Next do the Query Modem and record the ATI specifications displayed such as: ATI3 - Agere SoftModem Version 2.1.22 ATI5 - 2.1.22, AMR Intel MB, AC97 ID:SIL REV:0x27 Try to identify the modem setup file, with name perhaps MODEM.INF. If may contain chipset Vendor informaton. Otherwise, your modem could be supported by hsfmodem drivers: ============================================================ Regards, Antonio On Sun, Jul 10, 2011 at 2:13 PM, Alexander Martinez Fajardo <afajardo@xxxxxx> wrote: > Antonio, I would like to send you the other files (BootUp.txt, dmesg.txt, > etc) to you, may be you could find an extra information that could help. > > El 10/07/11 15:07, Antonio Olivares escribió: >> >> Alexander, >> >> scanModem reports that your modem most likely is an hsfmodem, but its >> instructions are somewhat incomplete? >> >> Predictive diagnostics for card in bus 00:1b.0: >> Modem chipset not detected on >> NAME="Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I " >> CLASS=0403 >> PCIDEV=8086:293e >> SUBSYS=17aa:20f2 >> IRQ=22 >> HDA2=00:1b.0 >> SOFT=8086:293e.HDA >> IDENT=hsfmodem >> Driver=hsfmodem-drivers >> >> For candidate modem in: 00:1b.0 >> >> Primary device ID: >> Support type needed or chipset: >> >> >> Completed candidate modem analyses. >> >> The base of the UDEV device file system is: /dev/.udev >> >> Versions adequately match for the compiler installed: 4.4.3 >> and the compiler used in kernel assembly: 4.4.3 >> >> >> >> Minimal compiling resources appear complete: >> make utility - /usr/bin/make >> Compiler version 4.4 >> linuc_headers base folder /lib/modules/2.6.32-31-generic/build >> >> The same Modem ID is apparently not present in linuxant's page: >> >> INTEL AC-Link Controller (ICH) >> PCI ID 8086:7186 >> PCI ID 8086:7196 >> PCI ID 8086:2416 >> PCI ID 8086:2446 >> PCI ID 8086:2486 >> PCI ID 8086:24C6 >> PCI ID 8086:24D6 >> PCI ID 8086:266D >> PCI ID 8086:2426 >> >> PCI ID 10DE:00D9 (NVIDIA nForce3) >> PCI ID 10DE:01C1 (NVIDIA) >> >> http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/index.php >> >> So at this time, it would be best to wait to see if Marv can make a >> better recomendation. >> >> Regards, >> >> >> Antonio >> >> On Sun, Jul 10, 2011 at 1:54 PM, Alexander Martinez Fajardo >> <afajardo@xxxxxx> wrote: >>> >
