RE: > Between attempts I have to execute _sudo invoke-rc.d sl-modem-daemon restart_ Interesting. We are aware of this necessity for the slamr driver, but not for the ALSA modem drivers including your snd-hda-intel sound+modem driver It is additionally puzzling because sl-modem-daemon restart tries to unload and reload the driver, and this is typically not possible for snd-hda-intel It is not apparent why it takes 3 tries to be successful. Do check the /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon file for the COUNTRY setting, as the default is USA Edits can be done with: $ sudo gedit /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon MarvS On Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 9:30 AM, Diogo V. kersting <diogovk@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > On Fri, Aug 6, 2010 at 8:41 PM, Marvin Stodolsky > <marvin.stodolsky@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > >> For your 0x10573055 Motorola softmodem chip, all you have done is appropriate. >> But there have been other reports of poor/intermittent results with this chip. >> >> Sadly there is a pre-compiled component that is now years old, that >> cannot be updated. >> Distribution rights were sold by Smartlink to Conexant, and there is >> no hope of getting support from Conexant for old Smartlink hardware. > > Thanks for clarifying.
