Yosbel, Sorry for not responding earlier. I lost my connection and I kept getting refusals and had been unsucessfull up to now for connecting to my ISP. I kept getting error 19 :( You rmodem is an hsfmodem and you would need generic modem drivers to get it going. But from your previous message, you seem to have a driver installed:\ Have you done the following: $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf and has it found the modem? The modem symbolic link is /dev/modem -> ttySHSF0 but your connection/modem detection is not working You did try to see if the modem was found Try with Root permission su - then do wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf to detect these modem types and some USB modems. If the detection is successful, read the DOCs/wvdial.txt . Edit the /etc/wvdial.conf with Root permission: gedit /etc/wvdial.conf will be able to dial out with Root permission: wvdial Let us know if wvdialconf found the modem or not. Thank you for sending us output of windows diagnostics Regards, Antonio On 7/31/10, Yosbel Esperón González <yosbeleg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Antonio, thanks for the help, this is the info that Windows show me, > excuse me my bad English: > Hardware ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C360A&REV_1000 > Driver: > HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP > Driver Provider: CXT > Driver Version: 7.80.4.50 > Provider: Conexant Systems, Inc. > Any help, will be well received. > Thanks, > Yosbel > > > Respondiendo a: Antonio Olivares >> Yosbel, >> >> If you have access to windows, that is if you are dual booting, then >> please do >> >> /* >> If an alternative boot into Microsoft windows can be done, do mouse >> clicks on: >> Start > Settings > Control Panel > Classical View (for Window XP) > >> System >>> Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Click on the + > Modem.
