I just want to ask if there are some new releases or other solutions I can test to get my modem running.

Yesterday I informed our LSI (inheritor of the former AgereSystems
code) of the desirability of updated the Linux agrsm code, to include
support for the host
8086:3b56  Audio device: Intel Corp 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High
Definition Audio
of their 11c11040 chip.

One shouldn't assume that a fix will soon be provided.  While LSI
staff are typically sympathetic, until some major buyer of their chips
will sponsor the coding, management will not make the investment in
Linux coding.  But to their credit, they recently provided an update
providing support for the new PCI card 11c1:0630 modem chip, together
with an update of the older code for the 11c1:0620 chip.
