Arif,

Try to use wvdial if you have it installed. Why?

Please run the following:

Open up a terminal and type
$ which wvdial

if it returns something like
/usr/bin/wvdial, then please run
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

it will scan and try to find a modem port. If it finds one, edit the
details ie., remove the ";" and add username, #777 or similar and try
to connect

$ sudo wvdial

if you can connect, then can you browse. If you can, try to download
scanModem.gz

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/scanModem.gz
copy it to your Ubuntu partition/home directory and

run
$ gunzip scanModem.gz
$ sudo chmod +x scanModem
$ sudo ./scanModem

send us(to list discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) the file ModemData.txt to see
how we can help

Regards,

Antonio
