Celestine, While I couldn't take the time to fully figure out the problems, I have encountered cases wherein successfull compiling required Root permission, even beyond usage of $ sudo make This can be done either by installing the package "fakeroot", to use: $ fakeroot make or alternately: $ sudo su root # make But exit "root" authority quickly, as it is to easy to trash your System with root authority Try these and report back.
