An update on the issue: Looks like the following can be used to avoid rebuilding the Ubuntu kernels 2.6.31-{16,17} to make the driver work: There seems to be a conflict created by the module snd-pcsp which gets loaded before the sound card is detected. The Linux kernel docs suggest adding the following option to the file /etc/modprobe.d/options: options snd-pcsp index=2 Reboot and see if the Agere modules start working. It worked for me for the 11c11040 chip, maybe it will work for the PCI express "0630" chip too. -- Nick Zhuravlev www.auriga.com On Sat, Dec 19, 2009 at 12:31:02PM +0300, Nikolay Zhuravlev <xxor@xxxxxxx> wrote: > All, > > I have had both success and failure with the agrsm-2.6.30.tar.bz2 > tarball now available on the > http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/ site. > [This is the most recent driver for the 11c11040 chip that I > prepared some time ago.] > > wvdialconf worked Ok for many vanilla kernels ranging from 2.6.28 to > 2.6.31, and it even works for the 2.6.32 with some minor > modifications.
