Re: Ubuntu

I changed the congic file, eliminated the 2 lines and checked to make
sure they did not change when I closed the file.
When I tried to dial this was the result.

forrest@warden-Ubu-1:~$ sudo ifconfig eth0 down
[sudo] password for forrest:
forrest@warden-Ubu-1:~$ sudo wvdial
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Configuration does not specify a valid phone number.
--> Configuration does not specify a valid login name.
--> Configuration does not specify a valid password.
forrest@warden-Ubu-1:~$

Then I did another sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf and got this:

[Dialer Defaults]
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
> Modem Type = Analog Modem
> Phone = 2990051
> ISDN = 0
> Username = fpcharnock@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
> Init1 = ATZ
> Password = ********
> Modem = /dev/ttyHSF0
> Baud = 460800

The config file says the info is there but the dialer say no.

I really appreciate your help because that baffles me.
