Evergreen,

Please write to the list not only to me, as I sometimes have problems
connecting to net from home to get better advice too.

It is trying to use usb-serial drivers, but for some reason or another
it is not working properly

Maybe taking a look at this thread:

http://marc.info/?l=linux-usb&m=123921902417985&w=2

can help and you can send us output of the following:

$ sudo lsusb -vv

Maybe, it is not working because it could be a bug as well?

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-bugs/2009-February/047352.html

similar to above one.

At the moment, my phone line is not working and I am connecting via cell phone:

PPP generic driver version 2.4.2
PPP Deflate Compression module registered
usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 2
usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3

usb 5-1: SerialNumber:

usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
cdc_acm 5-1:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device

I see the cdc_acm device name, but I am running a custom kernel

[olivares@localhost ~]$ uname -r
2.6.31
[olivares@localhost ~]$ cat /etc/fedora-release
Fedora release 10 (Cambridge)

Hope this helps in some way!

Regards,

Antonio
