Dear Tapan,

It does look like there is something wrong with this device on the PCI
bus. The problem occurs before you installed the 537EP Intel driver.

Jun 16 16:53:18 localhost kernel: serial 0000:04:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI
21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21
Jun 16 16:53:18 localhost kernel: 0000:04:00.0: ttyS1 at I/O 0x1008 (irq
= 21) is a 16450
Jun 16 16:53:18 localhost kernel: 0000:04:00.0: ttyS2 at I/O 0x1010 (irq
= 21) is a 8250
Jun 16 16:53:18 localhost kernel: 0000:04:00.0: ttyS3 at I/O 0x1018 (irq
= 21) is a 16450
Jun 16 16:53:18 localhost kernel: Couldn't register serial port
0000:04:00.0: -28

Can you also send me a:
$ /sbin/lspci -vvv ???? You may also disable these three serial lines
PCI devices by entering your BIOS.

Next you attempted to install the 537 Intel driver at:

[philippe@victor ~]$ grep 537 messages
Jun 16 18:52:35 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 16 18:52:35 localhost kernel: This Intel(R) 537 Modem driver won't
install on Intel 537EP card, please download the right driver
Jun 16 18:53:02 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 16 18:53:02 localhost kernel: This Intel(R) 537 Modem driver won't
install on Intel 537EP card, please download the right driver
Jun 16 19:24:21 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 16 19:24:21 localhost kernel: This Intel(R) 537 Modem driver won't
install on Intel 537EP card, please download the right driver
Jun 17 22:26:09 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 18 08:06:20 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 18 08:32:50 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
Jun 18 12:09:36 localhost kernel: Intel 537EP card found
and it looked to be correctly installed on Jun 17 22:26:09.
