thnx for your report, can you pls send me the output of:
cat /proc/asound/version
cat /proc/asound/cards
aplay -L
uname -a
sudo modinfo snd-hda-intel
grep -r CONFIG_SND_VERSION /usr/src/*/include/
md5sum /boot/System.*

if the alsa version is realy 1.0.17 pls send me the file
/usr/src/<your kernel sources>/sound/pci/hda/hda_intel.c
