Hrishikesh

For slamr support, from
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/Ubuntu/
get the slamr-2.6.28-11-generic.tar.gz

But before using it, check if wvdial is installed on your System with:
$ sudo wvdial --help
If not installed, with your Jaunty install CD in place:
$ sudo apt-get install wvdial
as the slamr package will call for wvdial

Next unpack
$ tar zxf slamr*.tar.gz
Browse the new slamr-2.6.28-11-generic/ folder and run:
$ sudo ./setup

Afterward set your Country with:
$ sudo gedit  /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon
and change the default Country from USA to INDIA
