Re: Sergio Ariel de la Campa, Cuba, kernel 2.6.26-1-686

Sergio,

I forgot to explicitly that as shown in your first setting, additional
packages are needed to support compiling under Debian:
 kernel-kbuild-2.6-26
 linux-headers-2.6.26-1
 linux-headers-2.6.26-1-686
 gcc-4.1
 make
libc6-dev
and any of there dependents.
These can be downloaded form the www.debian.org package repository, if
not present on your install CD.
With the install CD in place you can try:

# apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.26-1-686 kernel-kbuild-2.6-26
gcc-4.1 make libc6-dev

If the packages must be downloaded manually, after copying into your
Linux partition:
# dpkg -i *.deb
will co-install all the packages.

Thereafter, rerun the hsfmodem package install.

Upon the next reboot,
$ ls -l  /dev/ttySHSF* /dev/modem
to assess if modem ports have been created

Then the modem should be found by:
# wvdialconf
