Stop/Restart the sl-modem daemon. I have to do this several times in order to make the modem dialout more times. In Fedora I do # service slmodemd stop # service slmodemd start # wvdial and the session works once again. If I stop the session and I try to dialout, it will not work, the modem does not respond it only works by doing the stop|start|restart of slmodemd. In debian/ubuntu it might be slightly different something like $ sudo sl-modem-daemon stop $ sudo sl-modem-daemon start or something similar, I am not 100% certain here, but Marv can provide the equivalent of what I do.
