There are slamr driver users using fax. There is in the slmodem tar ball a folder with faxing examples. The true port for the slamr driver with /dev/slamr0 and --alsa hw:0,6 usages is a /dev/pts/N . So while Ahmed may be well be correct, someone should just test the --alsa case. I currently do not have a cogent hardware to test myself.
