You can find packages for your modem, however for the kernel you have
2.6.27-11-generic there appear to be no packages.  If you can boot to
previous kernel, then you may install a precompiled package for
11c11040 modem

Otherwise, if you like adventure then you can read the following:

and try to make your own package.  Report back presently.
