Under CPU=x86_64 there is no service for
Modem: Intel Corporation FA82537EP 56K V.92 Data/Fax Modem PCI "
CLASS=0703
PCIDEV=8086:1080
SUBSYS=1028:1000
IRQ=19
IDENT=INTEL537EP

because the code package has a precompiled 32 bit component.

There would be a small loss of preformance if you replaced the x86_64
installation with a 32 bit kernel+modules.  But then the modem would
be supported by the Intel-537
