terse, agrsm-test installed by the agrsm-tools package BY Design does not contain the drivers. Rather it runs a test after the drivers are installed from other sources. Per record below. There is in the end a failure on my System, as it lacks the cogent modem hardware: MarvS ~$ sudo agrsm-test Found drivers for boot kernel 2.6.27-7-generic at: /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/extra/agrserial.ko /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/extra/agrmodem.ko Loading drivers: Drivers loaded: agrserial 19808 0 agrmodem 1259268 1 snd 63268 18 agrmodem,snd_via82xx,snd_ac97_codec,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_seq_oss,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm,snd_timer and symbolic link created: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 2009-01-09 18:16 /dev/ttySAGR -> /dev/ttyAGS3 Checking for utility wvdialconf Found /usr/bin/wvdialconf, preparing to run: wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf Modem Port Scan<*1>: S0 S1 S2 S3 ttySAGR<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 2400 baud, next try: 9600 baud ttySAGR<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- failed with 9600 baud, next try: 115200 baud ttySAGR<*1>: ATQ0 V1 E1 -- and failed too at 115200, giving up. A reboot may be necessary before modem detection through: sudo modprobe agrserial Which will load agrmodem, agrserial and create the symbolic link needed for: sudo wvdialconf The installation record has been written to ./agrsm-test.txt On Fri, Jan 9, 2009 at 4:00 PM, terse <terse@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Install with > $ sudo dpkg -i agrsm*.deb > > Installs > |-- etc > | `-- modprobe.d > | `-- agrsm > `-- usr > |-- sbin > | `-- agrsm-test > `-- share > `-- doc > `-- agrsm-tools > |-- LICENSE > |-- copyright > `-- usages.txt > Sorry, I did not mention, full name for the package I used is > agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz and it only copying modular > modem drivers agrmodem.ko+agrserial.ko and snd-hda-intel.ko to system.
