I'm having trouble getting my father in law's laptop to dial up since
doing some package upgrades. He's running Hardy. The first time I got
it working I had the same problem which was solved by installing
alsa-driver-linuxant and the hsfmodem package. I've tried doing the
same thing now. But while the modem is recognized, Gnome-PPP shows a
'No dialtone' message in it's log file. I've checked the line and
there is definitely a dialtone.

I ran scanModem again on it. Here is the ModemData.txt:
