Joe, Anotonio's guidance is fine for getting on line under 2.6.27-7-generic if you are comfortable with compiling. But to just get on line quickly there is a faster route. >From http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/ get the agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic.tar.gz which contains tested drivers for kernel 2.6.24-19-generic. Through http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy-updates/linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic download the linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic package. Install under Ubuntu with: $ sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb Reboot under the new -2.6.24-19-generic kernel Unpack the tarball with $ tar zxf agrsm*.tar.gz Move in $ cd agrsm-ubuntu8.04.1-2.6.24-19-generic Run $ sudo ./setup and follow through with the included directions. Sometime later this week I'll prepare a similar package for the 2.6.27-7-generic kernel MarvS scanModem maintainer On Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 8:56 PM, Antonio Olivares <olivares14031@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Try reading : > > http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/HOWTO-Agere-11c11040-HDA.html > > Then downloading > > http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/agrsm-HDA-20080721.tar.bz2 > > If you advance and manage to get it working, get together with Alen, > He's also encountering some problems with the same modem :( > > http://georgia.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=986878 > > Regards, > > Antonio > > On Sat, Nov 22, 2008 at 6:11 PM, Joseph Price <pricechild@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: >> Resending this with the 'proper' subject.. >> >> Hey all. run scanModem and output is attached. >> >> Googled 0x11c11040 and found messages from 2007 which didn't make >> things look good at all.
