Possibly, the only problem is the Conexant modem drivers from the
hsfmodem package, which are known to interfere with your AC'97 type
Broadcom modem

Uninstall the hsfmodem package.  First do
$ sudo hsfconfig --help
which will list the options including uninstall.   It will be something like:
$ hsfconfig  --uninstall
also if you did the installation with the Debianized package, do:
$ sudo dpkg  -r  hsfmodem*

Your ethernet driver is likely the "b44"

But after removing the hsfmodem package, just reboot and do:
$ lsmod | grep snd_intel8x0
$ sudo modprobe snd-intel8x0m
Then rerun:
$ ./scanModem
