Try the following:
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

it will scan for a modem port.  If successfull you will see something like
found a modem on /dev/ttyS?.  If that is the case, you will need to edit the file /etc/wvdial.conf 
$ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
remove the ";" and add your username, password and phone number to connect to your ISP.  Read DOCS/wvdial.txt fro more information.  If you get stuck or have questions please let us know.
