ForCommunication controller: Agere SystemsCLASS=0780PCIDEV=11c1:0620
under Mandriva Linux release 2008.0 (Official) for x86_64Kernel 2.6.22.9-desktop-1mdv on a Dual-processor x86_64
There is a problem. There is a agrsm code package which supports this 11c1:0620 modem chipset, but it has components pre-compiled in 32 bit mode. A 64 bit compilethat would match your Dual-processor x86_64 is not expected from LSI(formerly AgereSystems).
Thus to use the modem, if would be necessary to boot the computer in32 bit mode,Usually additional code libraries needed to function in 32 bit modeare already installed on Linux systems. Then there could be used fromMandriva a packagedkms-agrsm-2.1.80-2mdv2009.0.i586.rpmwhich is also available athttp://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/ltmodem/11c11040/
Before trying to use it, you should install the i686 or i586 variantof your .Kernel 2.6.22.9-desktop-1mdv package, so you can alternatelyboot in 32 bit or 64 bit modem
