Hi, i use Ubuntu Hardy, kernel 2.6.24-16-386 a.k.a. 2.6.24.3 and i have the SM56 data/fax modem from motorola. I have the slmodem and ltmodem modules installed, and i tryied to install both files from sm56.tk Here's my output from scanModem: -------------------------- System information ---------------------------- CPU=i686, Linux version 2.6.24-16-386 (buildd@palmer) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 Thu Apr 10 12:50:06 UTC 2008 scanModem update of: 2008_05_02 There are no blacklisted modem drivers in /etc/modprobe* files Attached USB devices are: ID 0c45:602e Microdia ID 0e8f:0012 USB modems not recognized For candidate card in slot 01:0a.0, firmware information and bootup diagnostics are: PCI slot PCI ID SubsystemID Name ---------- --------- --------- -------------- 01:0a.0 11d4:1805 11d4:1805 Communication controller: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem Modem interrupt assignment and sharing: 11: 1835552 XT-PIC-XT uhci_hcd:usb1, nvidia, eth0 --- Bootup diagnostics for card in PCI slot 01:0a.0 ---- === Finished firmware and bootup diagnostics, next deducing cogent software. === Predictive diagnostics for card in bus 01:0a.0: Modem chipset detected on CLASS="Class 0780: 11d4:1805" NAME="Communication controller: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem" SUBSYS=11d4:1805 PCIDEV=11d4:1805 IRQ=11 IDENT=Motorola_not_supported For candidate modem in: 01:0a.0 Class 0780: 11d4:1805 Communication controller: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem Primary device ID: 11d4:1805 Support type needed or chipset: Motorola_not_supported ----------------end Softmodem section -------------- Completed candidate modem analyses.
