Looks like the modem might be supported/is supported through the
native serial driver do as the quote below states

Edit the /etc/wvdial.conf with Root permission:
gedit /etc/wvdial.conf

that is type
$ su -
password:
$ wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
