Browse the documentation. Try to setup the modem with:
$ sudo slmodemd -c USA --alsa hw:0,6
/dev/ttySLO --> /dev/pts/SomeNumber
will hopefully be reported.
If so, leave slmodemd running and open a 2nd console. Test for modem
detection with:
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
if detected, read the wvdial.txt sample and edit with:
$ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
and try a dialout
$ sudo wvdial
